PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
While the state requires a minimum of 6 hours of driving lessons with an Instructor, parents are required to provide an additional 50 hours of practice, 10 hours of which must be at night. Lessons at DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL work best when a student drives 5 to 10 hours between sessions so that new skills are reinforced along the way.The 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training is generally divided into 4 – 1˝ hour lessons with 1-3 weeks between each session. You may also schedule your lessons on an hourly basis. We will attempt to accommodate the scheduling that works best for you.We have included a DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL TRACKING FORM for you to print out and use for your convenience to record your teenager’s practice driving. CLICK ON THE PDF IMAGE at the bottom of this page to get this form.
YOUR FIRST DRIVING LESSON
Your first appointment for a lesson will only be scheduled after the permit is obtained. We cannot commit the Driving Instructor’s time until we know that you are legally eligible to get behind the wheel of a car.Teenagers cannot drive with a parent or guardian until the Driving Instructor has legally validated their permit by signing it.
DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL has both male and female Instructors and you are welcome to express your preference, if you have one, when you register.Generally a student will work with the same Instructor for all lessons. We also accommodate requests for a particular Instructor or can discuss any other special needs.
THE JIFFY – YOUR FIRST LESSON THE QUICK WAY
DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL is pleased to offer you the JIFFY, the fastest way to get your permit validated.
During the school year, daylight drive time and academic commitments limit the hours your teen is available to get their permit validated by a Driving Instructor.Occasionally, a student may be away from school for an appointment or simply have a significant free period in which that first, all important one hour driving validation requirement, can be met.If you are able to drop the student off at DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL and pick them up after their appointment, we will give the student a Permit Validation Lesson and he or she can start driving under the supervision of a parent or guardian that much sooner.
Call us at (925) 837-8235 to schedule your JIFFY appointment for a permit validation. MISSED DRIVING LESSONS DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL generally requires a 24 Hour Notice for the Cancellation of a Lesson. Please understand that we are reserving the time and effort of our Instructors to meet the student at the appointed time and place.Increasing costs of gasoline also factor into our need to have students not miss their appointed driving lesson. Emergencies do occasionally arise and we will strive to be as flexible as possible under such circumstances. Please phone DANVILLE DRIVING SCHOOL as soon as you can if a driving lesson cannot be kept.We will attempt to fill your cancellation with another student who will anxiously be awaiting this opportunity.
